After a thorough search for a company that completely matched my interests, I ended up at JustBite. Their mission and vision appealed to me straight away, since I find nutritious food and a healthier lifestyle really interesting.
What's more, I saw JustBite as the ideal internship: a fast-growing start-up with a varied range of tasks including marketing, social media, copywriting… Thanks to my passion for language and marketing, I was really excited to get stuck into these tasks. After sending my application letter, I got a response very quickly, and Kevin and Aitor let me know I could join their team.
My internship at JustBite started at the end of September, and it was quite exciting, since it was my first-ever internship experience. I was a bit nervous about meeting Kevin and Aitor, since they're so good at what they do, and I was joining them without any experience. But those worries turned out to be unnecessary, because they gave me such a warm welcome. As soon as I arrived, I was given a lovely gift: a gift box with a range of nutritious snacks from JustBite's range, plus a few gadgets like a step counter and a sports towel. That took away the stress right away, and I could feel the room fill with a relaxed, easy-going vibe.

During my internship, I got the opportunity to broaden my knowledge in various areas and explore what interests me most in the business world. I learned a lot about writing social media content, with Aitor showing me the ropes of copywriting. I was also given access to JustBite's social media channels, which felt like a real sign of trust.
On top of that, I got to sit in on Kevin and Aitor's meetings, and I was even given a say. I heard from other students that their opinions weren't listened to at their internships, so I really felt lucky. It's not a given that an intern gets so much responsibility and flexibility from their workplace, and that's when I realised I was truly part of a tight-knit team built on mutual trust: a real dream team.
Besides content creation, I also got to plan and prepare the podcasts, research sources for their new learning platform, improve the website, look into a JustBite own-brand snack… the variety in my tasks meant I never dreaded a single day.
I was also often asked what I still wanted to learn, so my tasks could be tailored to that. So I had full input and could choose what I preferred to focus on. That gave me the chance to learn lots of new things and gain real insight into the business world.
Whenever I struggled with a task, I could always count on Kevin and Aitor to steer me in the right direction. They were constantly available, despite the tricky period when working from home was the new normal. On top of that, there was an almost daily stand-up where everyone shared what tasks they were working on and how far along they were. That kept communication running smoothly and kept us all connected.
For all these reasons, I'm convinced I couldn't have found a better internship than JustBite, and saying goodbye is honestly a bit hard.
Thanks to this internship, I've grown both personally and professionally. I loved every one of those instructive weeks with a young, enthusiastic and creative team, and I'm incredibly grateful to Aitor and Kevin for this unique opportunity. From the very first day to the last, they made me feel welcome and appreciated. And that feeling of appreciation was completely mutual. I can't wait to see JustBite grow, and I'll be watching with pride at everything Kevin and Aitor go on to achieve in the future.
Do you know anyone still looking for an internship, or are you looking for one yourself? JustBite is always on the lookout for young talent in (digital) marketing, business management, graphic design, development…
