We hand it over to intern Lotte to share her internship experience at JustBite:
The year 2020 — who could have guessed how things would turn out? The Covid-19 crisis changed a lot in the world, and my internship ended up looking very different from what I'd planned. Normally, I would have spent 13 weeks working at Kinepolis in Kortrijk. Unfortunately, that internship ended early, which meant I had to go looking for a new placement. Through my classmate and friend Femke, who works as a student employee at JustBite, I ended up at Kevin Ringoot's start-up. I got the great news that I could join and help strengthen their marketing team!
I was warmly welcomed at JustBite straight away, with a tasty, more nutritious snack box and an interesting book called 'De Online Marketing Tornado' from the Internet Marketing Unie. Thanks to this welcome package, I started with plenty of enthusiasm and could immediately get acquainted with the products the company offers.
This 4-week internship completely exceeded my expectations. I got a great mix of both digital and communicative marketing tasks. These assignments were complemented by interesting webinars that we, as interns, got the chance to join. That's how I learned more about keyword research, SEO&SEA, email marketing, growth marketing, and so much more! These insightful online sessions were given by people with real expertise in their field. On top of that, Kevin also gave the interns access to the Internet Marketing Unie Academy. Thanks to following these lessons and trainings, I gained knowledge I could put into practice right away.
Even though we worked from home, I look back on a truly insightful internship. Thanks to the daily calls with the team, everyone stayed up to date on each other's individual tasks. Kevin guided us well as interns and taught us the tricks of the trade. He gave us the freedom to brainstorm and help think along about JustBite's future plans. Our opinions and advice were genuinely valued, which gives you, as an intern, a real sense of appreciation.
In short, I'm happy I got to immerse myself in the world of JustBite for 4 weeks, and I look back on a truly insightful internship. Thank you, Kevin, for giving me that opportunity!
