After a thorough search for a company that fully matched my interests, I ended up at JustBite. Their mission and vision immediately appealed to me because I find healthy nutrition and lifestyle very interesting.
Moreover, I saw JustBite as the ideal internship place: a fast-growing start-up with a diverse range of tasks including marketing, social media, copywriting… Thanks to my passion for language and marketing, I was very enthusiastic to carry out the tasks. After sending my application letter, I received a quick response and Kevin and Aitor let me know that I could join their team.
At the end of September, my internship at JustBite began, very exciting since it was my first internship experience. I was a bit nervous to meet Kevin and Aitor because they are very skilled in their field and I was joining without experience. However, those worries were unnecessary because they welcomed me warmly; upon arrival, I immediately received a nice gift: a gift box consisting of various healthy snacks from JustBite’s range and some gadgets like a pedometer and a sports towel. This immediately took away the stress and I felt the atmosphere was relaxed and easygoing.
During my internship period, I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge in various areas and explore my interests within the business world. I learned a lot about writing social media content; Aitor guided me through the world of copywriting. I was also given access to JustBite’s social media channels, which was a sign of trust.
In addition, I was allowed to attend meetings with Kevin and Aitor and even had input. I heard from other students that at their internship places their opinions were not listened to, so I considered myself lucky. It is not common for an intern to receive so much responsibility and flexibility from the internship place, and this made me realize that I was truly part of a close-knit team based on mutual trust: a dream team.
Besides content creation, I was also allowed to schedule and prepare podcasts, search for sources for their new learning platform, improve the website, conduct research on a unique JustBite snack… the variety in my tasks ensured that I never dreaded any day.
Moreover, I was often asked which skills I definitely wanted to develop further so that my tasks could be tailored accordingly. I had full input and could choose what I preferred. This gave me the chance to learn many new things and gain insights into the business world.
Whenever I had difficulty completing a task, I could always count on guidance from Kevin and Aitor. They were constantly available, despite the challenging period when working from home became the new norm. Additionally, there was almost daily a stand-up meeting where everyone shared which tasks they were working on and their progress. This allowed communication to flow smoothly and kept us connected.
For all these reasons, I am convinced that I could not have found a better internship place than JustBite, and I find it a bit difficult to say goodbye.
I experienced personal and professional growth thanks to the internship. I enjoyed the educational weeks within a young, enthusiastic, and creative team and am very grateful to Aitor and Kevin for this unique opportunity. From the first to the last day, they made me feel welcome and appreciated. That feeling of appreciation was completely mutual. I look forward to seeing JustBite grow and will proudly watch everything Kevin and Aitor will achieve in the future.
